i popped them into a risotto they were small and tasty! lovely to see the rain out of my window - less watering tommorrow! This Victorian kitchen garden at Meldon Park is still very much performing the same role as it did when initially built, although it is providing fruit, vegetables and herbs for a wider market as against just the hall's own kitchen and cook. A beautiful sheltered south facing aspect catching all the necessary sun, with herbaceous borders, fruit trees, vegetables and herbs, plus pick your own raspberries when in season.

CUCUMBER ............
Ive had my first cucumber today - hooray and it was totally delicious!! Watering the tomatoes and other plants in the tunnel is getting harder and harder and the wind blew everything everywhere last Sunday so we are still tidying up today! First crop of braod beans were great too

Hello
ReplyDeleteI have just come across Meldon Park and I would like to include it on my website Your Northumberland Guide (www.yournorthumberland.co.uk). It's a free, independent guide to our great County. I'd like to include Meldon Park and the Kitchen Garden in the 'Things to do in Morpeth' Guide, would somebody please be able to email me and let me know if this would be OK?
The area guide for Morpeth is here: http://www.yournorthumberland.co.uk/area-guides/morpeth
And the 'Things to do Page' is here http://www.yournorthumberland.co.uk/area-guides/morpeth/morpeth-s-attractions-and-things-to-do
Please email me at enquiries@yournorthumberland.co.uk, many thanks.
Andrew
