Logs are also supplied from the Meldon Park Estate following our new woodland management strategy.

We aim to supply only seasoned and dry fire wood, unless otherwise specified. Firewood can be supplied in the round for your own cutting and splitting.

Deliveries are made using a trailer measuring 10 foot x 5 foot with sides up to 112 cm a full trailer is equivalent to 5 cubic meters or 5 dumpy bags.

Delivery direct to your door, free up to 8 miles, then £1.00 for each additional mile.

We have been extroadinarily busy this June and July we have attended as many markets as we could physically muster and have had a very succesful yet tiring couple of months. The weather has been kind (mostly) and the feedback from the people who bought our plants has been fantastic. The Gateshead Flower Show was a busy weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed being there and meeting some lovely people.

We have had many visitors to the Garden and although it is upsetting there is no cafe at present we decided with the current economic climate to just open the garden for people to vist and enjoy and bring a picnic and have some quiet time.

We have shown several people around the Garden who are looking to have there weddings with us which is all hugely exciting. We have a private function booked in August and a wedding booked in September I am crossing my fingers there will be nice weather for both.

We also have had five house and Garden Tours followed by a buffet in the conservatory - all the guests were very complimentary and enjoyed there time with us.

Hoping the weather will get better this August as the weeds are becoming a bit of a nightmare!!

The rain this week is lovely to see the garden is lapping it up - literally!! We have been busy at the local markets selling lovely perrenials and herbs and delicious vegetable plants for everyone to plant out. Planting has started in the garden although we did see a cheeky frost this week which was a slight worry. Lots of work still to be done though!!!

Busy days in the garden - loads of pricking out to be done ready to take stock to the local markets. More seeds to be sown and as the sun is shining watering to be done. Luckily help is at hand..................... even from the little members of the team! Lets hope she doesnt trip!

At long last we can start to think about Spring...the snowdrops are finally blanketing the woods and the brids are beginning to sing - many many jobs to be got on with in the garden!

We have been extremely busy in the garden having had some wonderful rain - we had to then deal with the beastly weeds - hopefully that is now under control - ish. The blackcurrants are ripe and the calabrese is ready along with a plentiful supply of spinach and chard. I had a picking of white turnips the other night and threw them in with some roasted peppers - quite delicious. Alnwick market is really picking up lots of lovely customers buying our fresh vegetables. Its wonderful to think that they are picked and eaten within a 20 mile radius - talk about a good carbon footprint!!!!!!! Still watering hard and feeding those tomatoes. Peppers are coming whoppee!! In the winds the diasaster was that Meg the scarecrow has fallen apart so we now only have a set of legs to frighten the birds!!

We were at the Otterburn Festival last weekend and we are at Heham Farmers Market on Saturday and Glendale Food Festival on Sunday - busy busy!!

CUCUMBER ............

Ive had my first cucumber today - hooray and it was totally delicious!! Watering the tomatoes and other plants in the tunnel is getting harder and harder and the wind blew everything everywhere last Sunday so we are still tidying up today! First crop of braod beans were great too i popped them into a risotto they were small and tasty! lovely to see the rain out of my window - less watering tommorrow!

GETTING LARGER!!!!

Excitement is growing ......tomatoes and cucumbers are getting larger, can't wait to be able to eat a yummy freah tomato sandwich with lots of hellmans mayonnaise on thick sliced white bread!!!!!! it tastes so much better when you have grown them yourself!

Strawberry baskets

Delighted that I sold two of our amazing Strawberry baskets at the Market today - once there is a visible strawberry they go like hot cakes......just have to hide them from the children else nothing is left!! I will take many more next week.

GROWING ARTICHOKES!!!

Not long now until we will be able to eat the delicious articokes dripping in butter.....although not so good for the duvet cover at night time!!

ALNWICK MARKET

We have been basking in the sun at the Alnwick Market today selling all our fantastic herbs and tomato baskets, hostas, and much more a good day for it and lovely to meet some new faces too.

WATERING AND WEEDING

Busy busy in the garden - if im not watering im weeding and I cannot keep up with myself!! The vegetables are starting to thrive lets hope we get a little rain before too long. We are selling our herbs and plants now at the markets which has been going really well. Im taking more and more cuttings so we have plenty ready for next year too!!

DELICIOUS RADISHES AND SALAD LEAVES

WOW .....just picked salad leaves from the garden and some radishes and had them for lunch - fresh and delicious who could ask for more. The rain has eased and the weeds are thriving think I will be very busy for weeks!!!

This is Meg - we are hpoing that she will keep the brids away from the newly planted seeds - although every time I walk into the field to water the tomatoes in the tunnel she gives me such a shock!! Pleased to have had rain yesterday to give the little plants a drink!!

RAIN AT LAST

At last some rain over the last couple of days - hurray the vegetables were crying out for it. Hopefully the lettuces will be ready next week. Delicious rhubarb is still selling well. Put canes in all the tomato plants yesterday and tied them so they wont collapse - so much to be done -

Finally the tomatoes have been planted into their grow bags..... now we can wait watch and water until we have delicious home grown toms - nothing tastes quite the same - in a salad, on its own, in a sandwich or made into a scrumptious soup - I cannot wait!!

Walking by the river

Glorious weather again today. Plants and vegetables needing alot of water. The hard herbs - mint, rosemary and chives have all had a good trim to enable them to bush out. Desparate to plant more but concerned that its too hot and they will all wilt terribly!

SUN SHINE - FANTASTIC

Its glorious today and at last the plants and seedlings are getting some of the lovely sun shine they deserve......they will be feeling happy and looking forward to poking their heads above the soil. The atichokes are looking lively - so exciting when they are ready nothing nicer than delicious boiled globe artichoke dripping in butter - I cannot wait. 45 minutes I have spent watering the tunnel to make sure that all those little darlings are not thirsty - dont want them wilting in this heat!!

Gallons of herbs

Meant to mention took loads of herb cuttings, sage, mint and rosemary. Planted lots of basil, thyme, lemon thyme and parsley - put them in the propogator so in a few weeks they should be beginning to spring to life

POTATOES UNDERWAY

Excitement as the early potatoes are beginning to show - not long until we can eat them dripping with butter. I was delighted to have covered the cabbages with mesh because of the frost over the last couple of days - what a relief. Waiting for the spinach to grow love making spinach lasagne but with it being so cold nothing is really sprouting at the moment.

Just planted 240 cabbages over 200 calabreze, lettuce and fleeced the lot to save them from the pesky pidgeons!! Exhausted now.......
